So Tired...
Well let's recap what we here have to put up with... First off I have no more of a choice to go fight up north than those up north have to come and relax here, so why am I being punished for it??? M-F from 0800-1630 we wear DCU's and conduct Battle Drills. (loads of fun... Keep in mind that the temp. Is reaching 90-100 degrees now a days) Sat. from 0800-1300 we have mandatory fun day! After 1300 we are allowed to go to the pool in groups of 3 with a 'leader of the pack', whom is in charge of the group all day. They foresee that the group gets to the pool and back without breaking any rules. Last I checked the pool was a Moral welfare Recreation and we did not need to ask permission to go to MWR activities. I am injured and unable to do anything that would impact my tibias so I had to get a written prescription from the DR. to go to the pool nad swim AM laps. How sad is it that I have to be prescribed to work out?? Then Sunday... We can sleep in and following the same instructions as Sat. go to the pool from the time it opens, 1000, till it closes, 1800. We are not allowed to wear civilian clothes EVER, unlike everyone else here. We have a 2300 curfew every night, no exceptions, well there are two. If you use the phones or computers to chat to family you may be out, but ONLY to those places. Females HAVE to be in pairs during the day and groups of 3 at night. For instance I was sitting, talking to a guy, maybe 50 Ft from the volleyball courts, everyone and anyone could see me, but I got reprimanded because I was "alone". What the $@*&#@*???? It's almost impossible to get daily things accomplished; such as the PX, the Post Office, going to a movie, etc. with those standards. I understand the "safety" reasons behind it but women don't get along the way it is and now you want them in groups of 3 or more... Whew that's a cat fight brewing!! If we choose to have some sort of a relationship here, with the opposite sex, we can not be seen sitting too close to the person or conducting some kind of Public Display of Affection. That is based on how one perceives PDA's. One female already got banned from her friend because by someone's standards it was interfering with the training day. What TRAINING DAY??? We are here, this is what we trained for, how much more can they beat into us before we all go nuts???? We have to sign out for EVERYWHERE we go except the latrines/showers. Not only do we sign out within our barracks but after 2300 we have to let our squad leader know too. The moral is plummeting and nobody is doing a thing about it. The leaders tell us to go through our "chain of command" but nothing happens. So we try to go above them and things only get worse. In the words of the 1SG "shit roles downhill." Then they fill us with BS about how every company has these problems around the 3/4 month mark. Tell me this... if you know this is correct with EVERY company then why sit back and let EVERY company become a statistic??? Why not try to change the statistics?? Why do our "leaders" want us to get so low??? Why are they urging us to think about killing ourselves??? Please if anyone can explain any of this to me do so. It's hard enough being thousands of miles away from our loved ones and creature comforts and to add these complications to our lives is ridiculous! If you are angry with it write to a congressmen, it might just help... http://www.aidsstories.com/states/mn.html
