The Life Unseen: June 2005

Having some fun at work... and being bored... I am totally obsessed with myself. LOL not really. The pic of the HUMVEE if you can tell is the biggest piece of crap! Of course it's a marine vehicle. They tear on their vehicles sooo bad not even funny. This one however can't even hold it's own windsheild up, wouldn't start without hot wireing (yes I can do that), and then wouldn't shut off w/o disconnecting wires. Good equipment we have here.

Ok so females NEVER get to drive tanks in the military. Well we did!! I know some of you are going "those aren't tanks, they are just track troop carriers" well they ARE tanks! OK don't take away my glory. They were so much fun just like driving a skid loader but with more power. If you don't know what a skid loader is I am so sorry you should have grown-up in the country.

Last Country night for some time :( so umm.. Ashley, me, Jen~Me and Cameron~Jeff and I~Ben and I~Menssen and I~the group hanging outx2~Shulzetenberg and I~ Me and Joe I totally taught him how to 2 step it was so much fun. He's an infantry guy, no rhythm, Just Kidding! we had tons of fun, too bad he was only here a bit over a week. Another partner gone... what will a girl do?

Neglected...

Hey everyone! I am so sorry for neglecting this! I have been getting very bad reviews from tons of people.
Lately I have been working 1800-0600 every night! I sleep, wake-up and go back to work. Sometimes I make it to the gym and others not so much.
Not a whole lot new going on. Met a few more new people, will post some pics, and other friends have left. Sometimes it's hard making friends here, they leave and then ? but it's a good time.
My nephew, Joseph, made my day today! I talked to him on the phone, he said my name, which he is getting better at, also that he loved and missed me. Plus as a bonus he gave me a big kiss. Oh it was sooooo cute! I miss the little tyke. I also have another nephew, Owen, whom is growing like a weed and starting to make tons of noise, I can't wait to meet him. I hope he likes me. :)
Just wanted to say "HI" to one of my greatest friends, Amy. She got married last weekend and I wish her well. I would have done anything to be there for her. Miss you girl!
Then there's Jessica, whom just purchased a new Harley. Good Luck on your license testing! I can't wait to get a ride! Something about the noise and rumbling that makes me a big fan of them!
Life here is going quicker than I thought it would now that it's routine. 6 months down and 6 more to go. Hottest it's gotten is 130, so anyone complaining of lesser heat can put on a parka and stand outside because I don't want to here about it. I really shouldn't complain though because I hear the mosquitoes and gnats at home are in full force and deet is no competition for them. So much for camping.
Miss you all tons and remember just because I may not write a.s.a.p. doesn't mean I forgot about you! OX

Sunday

After every intention of going to the pool and church today I slept through the alarm and woke-up at 1530. oops! I didn't crash till 0800 this morning so I guess waking up an hour later was out of the question.
Ashley came back today from R&R with terrible jet lag, but we are all happy to see her back!! Missed you girl!
We had a PCB, living area, meeting. Then Jen and I went to check out Kelly's singing, she did two takes and was very quick to leave the premises.?.?.
After chow we took a short break and went to see Off the Wall. A crazy band, nobody has ever heard of. They were ok but the female was super sleazy. She actually did a wardrobe change! My pet peeve she changed into a makeshift desert camo mini skirt and was showing her privates to anyone that was watching her. She must have had something wrong with her legs because they never seemed to close. It was terrible she made white females everywhere blush with shame. Not only was she wearing the grotesque mini but she had on plastic knee high hooker boots, if they wouldn't have been shiny they would have been ok but to top it off she also had on a button down skin tight black shirt. I would have preferred her to keep on the terrible pleather American flag wanna be pants. I mean come on... here we are getting all these rules about what to wear and she's just letting it all hang out. Oh well it was a good night anyways we had some fun people watching and of course criticizing the band for their tasteless efforts.
Some of our 434 females got up and shook their butts on stage, but with the commander standing by looking on Jen and I decided against it.

11 June, 2005: Saturday!

Hello~ not much new going on. I have been working and sleeping. Last night we were working and I felt REALLY bad for these marines. They had to wash their tanks and then sleep on the washrack. They did it like it was ok, I couldn't believe it! All the buildings and barracks we have here and they had to sleep outside on cement where vehicles get washed. Good Grief!
OMG! So Thursday we got our CIVILIAN CLOTHES privledge. So of course I put them on and paraded around in them! Now I can be comfortable!!! Seriously though they are giving us these things so we don't go home and complain about how dumb and stupid they were. Trying to save face I guess.
I have been so messed up by night shift I can't remember what I did, when I did it or if I did anything at all.

Do you swing or not? Dave left today... for all of you wondering, he's one of my closest friends here. Over the last few weeks we got to talk alot. Dave's a great guy always knowing what to say to cheer me up. Maybe one day I will see him again.

sooooo sleepy...

Well we had another long night last night. My team stayed out working all night and it was slow going but we had stuff to do most of the night. somewhere around 0200 it felt like 70 degrees but it was 92!!! How crazy I am almost use to the heat now... Couldn't sleep today so I am going on 4 hours. Lots of fun. We have tonight off due to ??? The paper work is what holds us up most of the time.
Dave leaves the 7th, but I really only have one more day to see him. Seems like everyone I have met here leaves soon. Hopefully I won't be too long after them.
I have my Video Tele-Conference with my family tonight!! Very excited! My little sis used all her vacation time to see her BF's family so she will not be there but I guess I will let it slide.

Well yesterday was Dave's birthday, big 29! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! I am terrible and forgot to wish him a happy b-day when he called, I was sooo tired. But because of my absenteeism he figured I totally forgot, his loss, I didn't. I had a card and personal made CD but due to his rudeness he is no longer getting the gift. Maybe next time he'll be nicer. On the other hand this is the 2nd B-day I have let slip, so maybe I am losing it.

It was country night last night!! Very few showed and even fewer danced, what gives guys?? I want to give a shout out to Vince who is leaving us. He has taught me some good two-step moves. Thank you! I will miss you. Also to Joe who has been so busy teaching another woman that he forgot the rest of us. Just Kidding! I just missed a good dance that's all. Then there is Jerry whom I really miss, some idiots got him fired up and so he refuses to show anymore. I really hope he comes back. Jerry if you read this, You are my number 1 man, I miss the good times. I can't forget Bill, he's leaves in roughly 2 weeks. I've been teaching him all I know and he's been a good sport. I will miss you too! All my dance partners are leaving me... what's a girl to do??
