Thursday 28 April, 2005
Well it's 0852 here and sorry I have been out of touch. Not a whole lot has been going on. Tuesday I went to the company's softball game and they won! It was a great game very exciting. I also started working out with weights again. Today was a tough swim my arms were tight and inactive, but it was a good swim. Yesterday we went down to the motorpool and PMCS's our vehicles then had the rest of the day to ourselves. I took a 4 hour nap and still felt drained. We had 4 volleyball games last night and I sure made some people laugh. I like to get real excited and commentate the games. It's a good time. After the games I went to Country Night but I wasn't feeling into it so I went to bed around 2130. Woke-up this morning at 0450 and hit up the swimming pool. Then at 0800 we had formation and now we are on our own for the day. Jen and I got some super hot hats from SG C which I will post the pictures a bit later. It's a good laugh! Hope you all have a great day!!

A pinch of Freedom...
Today was a waste of a day until tonight. We had a training formation for PT conductivity. Wow does that make any sense? Then the rest of the day was whatever we felt like. Laundry, music I made a few collages. you know boring stuff. Tonight however we got a new battle buddy S.O.P.!! If we are in zone 6 (our zone) we can walk around alone in well lit congested areas. If we choose to go to another zone alone we may do so by mode of bus otherwise we need a battle buddy with us. Finally we have a glimpse of being treated like responsible adults that MOST of us are!! Today is a good day. Well the weather is crap... 90+ degrees, humid, very humid. It tried to rain some but after a few drops it gave up. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Sunday 24 April, 2005
Hey~ Today I attempted to sleep in but to no avail I got up at 0800. Around 0945 we headed to the pool and whoo wee did we get some sun! We were there till 1330 then grabbed some pizza an headed back to our PCB's (barracks). I settled into some comfy civilian clothes and took a nap. Then rummaged through my locker and around 1730 went to chow and now here I am. Hope you all had a great Sunday and got a chance to relax. The lesson of today is "Sex is not Love."

Happy Friday~
well off to a great crap day! Let's see got up at 0400 so I could get rid of my extra duffel bags, as I mentioned before. Then I went to do a vigorous fantastic swim workout. Was extremely tired afterwards but feared to take a nap because I would wanted to sleep tonight. Well as the morning progressed I got sleepy and decided to fall asleep. Not more than 30 min later I was awaken around 0800. My squad leader decided that we were having a meeting and did not tell anyone till the time of. so... I asked for an hour extention because everyone was still in bed but low and behold we were interrupted by the Commander and 1SG inspecting once again. Then finally around 0930 we had our 10min meeting and after that the day went downhill. We were suppose to have an inspection at 1100 but they decided not to come till 1600, only to arrive at 1715. Well I went to the Community Center and watched a movie with Bruce Willis and an autistic kid in it, pretty good. Then off to lunch and finally an hour nap. After the crappy nap it was back to the computers, the PX and supper. After supper I did my good Samaritan dead for the day and mopped the latrine for 20min because a toilet cracked and nobody wanted to shut the water off. how nice huh, dirty females. UGH! Well that brings me to now... the remainder of the night I am going to rabble aimlessly around till 2120 when we have a softball game to attend. Don't worry we got a signed permission slip to be out past curfew. :) Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!! Don't forget my 23rd birthday is coming up on the 30th!!!
INSPECTIONS...
Over the last few days we have had many many inspections of our barracks. Not only when we sign up to be a soldier of defending freedom do we lose our very own freedom but we are not allowed to display an American flag from our wall lockers. What is the deal??? These people have seriously gone nuts over here!! They say that hanging one from the wall locker is an unacceptable way of displaying it. Well we can't hang it from the wall nor from our bunks so where else is there?? We also had to wake-up at 0430 this morning to put all our duffel bags and "extra" stuff into a conex. Now that most of my battle gear is gone are they still going to tell us we are in a combat zone? Of course because it's always fun to "beat the dead horse."

Could be worse...
I just want everyone to know that all of us here realize that we could be in Iraq dealing with incoming fire and mortars. The argument we argue everyday is that fact that we are not there so why are we unable to take advantage of that?? For instance: Our 1SG put out that we could go to the pool at a squad level during the week but our Platoon Leader must have decided to withhold that information. How nice. I guess we are all just a bunch of nobody's worth anything. I mean we left our family, friends and creature comforts behind just like everyone else. Just because we can not pick our location and job doesn't mean we can be treated like we are.
